  2. Hi Ron! I had brunch in Atlanta with Rick Dublin and his wife Cathy. Among all the catching up that went on, my wife Karen had an old Romantic Homes magazine with a picture of a man doing a watercolor en plein air whose profile greatly resembled the profile of my old NY CD. I asked Rick whether he thought it was you, and he was less sure about it. I ask you, who has the sharper eye? What a wonderful second creative act you've discovered - your work is magnificent. Inspirational even (especially for me - a former RISD scholarship winner and watercolorist myself. (Not in your league though.) I presume you are also aware that Winston Churchill was an avid painter and loved watercolors. I have his small book on the subject and have read it with great interest. Keep up the good work - and save a space at the watercolor societies. I hope to be joining your ranks one day.

  5. Ron, I thank you for putting that endearing kitty on those keys. And I thank you for helping me start a career in advertising in Virginia in the early 80s where I sought to follow in the footsteps of Minneapolis folks like you, Tom McElligott, and Nancy Rice, as well as, Mike Hughes, and Harry Jacobs, and Bill Westbrook in Virginia (OK, Bill spanned from VA to MN). Anyway, in '89 I headed around the world to Thailand and explained myself that I was following the "Greatest CD in the Universe". Now, I have nearly 30 years there and www.stepaheadmed.org is how we carried on by His grace. Thanks for teaching principles of character and commitment that still work today. Carpe Diem. Coram Deo. John

    1. This is Charlotte, his wife. Thank you for the kind words. I only wish Ron could understand your post. Unfortunately he is in a memory care facility with Alzheimer's. Thankfully he still has his sweet kind disposition. He really loved his advertising career and especially the people he met. He also enjoyed several years of painting after he retired.
